Changing an Address in case of Divorce or Separation
Because of the link from an address to a reservation, fixing addresses in the case of divorce and separation is more complex.
In our example, Mary and Joe live on Elm street.
After the divorce Mary keeps the Elm Street address and Joe moves to Main Street.
Essentially we are unlinking Joe from the Elm Street Address, giving him a new address, and making sure his reservation history (past and future) are linked to the new address.
Steps are:
(a) Add to Joe's record the Main Street Address, assign it as Primary, if it is the primary address.
(b) Before deleting Elm Street from his record, see if he had reservations using the Elm Street Address.
NOTE: ViaTour does not allow users to delete any address linked to a reservation.
(c) If there is reservation history, go to each reservation (the easy way is from the Traveler- Overview tab or Trip History Tab) and on the reservation link back to his new Main Street Address. Once this is done, you can delete the ELm Street Address from his Record.
(d) If no reservations are assigned you can simply delete the Elm Street From his record.
(e) Now go to Mary's record, click on the detail for Elm Street, and re-format so she alone appears on the format Address label, Salutation, and Primary Address field. Make sure you update changes to her reservations (past and future) as well.
