Flights: Field Definitions
a. Flight Type: user defined, see setting up flight codes
b. Direction: Outbound/Return or Outbound/Inbound
c. Leg: You can number legs of flights.
d. Airline: this list can be found in the Lookup Code table under Airline. Note the Code is the two-letter abbreviation and description stores the airline's full name.
e. Flight#
f. Class: You will enter a flight for every class of service you are tracking. You only need to track class with a flight if you are worried about seat allocation in each class of service. (Note: you may wish to use a type naming convention to help differentiate: Main Tour Economy, Main Tour Business.)
g. Dom/Int: Domestic or International
h. Departure & Arrival Airport: the list displays Airport code and city and country. To add new airports or to delete seldom-used airports, go through the back end (viatourdata.mdb) and open the table: tlkpAirportCode.
i. Arrival and Departure Date/Time: Double click in the date field on a flight that is "outbound" and automatically the tour's start date will drop in. On a flight tagged as return or inbound, a double click will give you the tour's end date.
j. Aircraft: this list can be found in the Lookup Code table under Aircraft.
k. Duration: Text field- user must calculate a flight's duration.
l. Service: You may link one or many flights to a service, where contract details payment deadlines and costs are tracked.
m. Record locator #
n. Transfer departs: this is a date & time field. Enter date first and then time. Any reservation assigned a flight with a transfer automatically puts that passenger on the transfer.
o. Transfer Notes: This is a text field where you can write notes about the transfer.
