Keystroke Shortcuts
Instead of using your mouse, you can often type certain key combinations to perform actions.
Type: In Order To:
C: Close a report
Alt + C: Close a form
Ctrl + semicolon (;): Inserts today's date if not input mask
Ctrl + apostrophe ('): Inserts the record from before
Ctrl + A: Selects everything in field
Ctrl + C: Copy everything
Ctrl + V: Paste
Ctrl + X: Cut
Alt + underlined letter: Opens form
Tab: Move field to field
Alt-Tab: Reverse field to field
Esc (once): Undo changes/entry in current field
Esc (twice): Undo changes/entry in entire record
F4: Force a combo box to drop down
F9: Refresh* the current form
Shift + Enter: Force a save of the current record
Shift + F2 Zoom (opens a field if all the text is not visible)
Ctrl + M Opens Message Log (Pro versions)
Ctrl + R Opens Reminders anywhere in the database (Standard and Pro)
* If data isn't appearing, type the F9 key or use Refresh Button (if available on form) to update and re-fresh the form so it can "grab" the new data.
