Promotions, Field Definitions

1. Promotion Name: users can assign any name to a promotion. It is helpful to add a calendar year, so in drop down lists one can distinguish one year from another.
2. Promotion size: enter the number of items sent.
3. Comment: store notes relating to the promotion.
4. Scheduled Item: users can create any promotion/mailing schedule they wish to track. Create items under the Lookup code MailingSched  (see Adding, editing  set up Look-up codes in System Maintenance.) Clients often create custom reports to help them track promotion schedules.
5. Tours linked to promotion: assign one tour, several tours or no tours to the promotion. When you assign a tour to a promotion you create a link. From the tour form, clicking the promotions button will show you a "filtered" list of promotions.  That is, you will see only the promotions assigned to that particular tour. To view all promotions, use the button on the main menu.  Assigning a tour to a promotion also causes that promotional name to appear first on that tour's reservation form. All other promotions appear in alphabetical order following.
6. Vendors linked to promotion: assign one vendor, several vendors or no vendors to a promotion. You also assign a role.
